Foton will be entering this year's NADA with the Tunland. The Foton Tunland is a budget compact pickup sold by the Chinese manufacturer Foton Motor sold in China since November 2011 as well as Australasia, Colombia, and emerging markets. Foton says the Tunland combines the power, performance, and reliability of established, globally-reputed brands for its major drivetrain elements. These include a Cummins diesel engine, ZF transmission, BOSCH electronics, and ABS with ESC, Dana axles and differentials.
Powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine, the Tunland makes 161 BHP of power at 3600 RPM and 360 Nm of torque between 1800-3000 RPM. The motor is mated to a 6-speed ZF auto transmission. The Tunland embodies a ladder-frame construction, rigid chassis and reinforced steel body with superior balance and stability. Comfort and convenience features include Bluetooth audio streaming, Hill Start control, Engine immobiliser, Air conditioning, Power windows, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, and daytime running lights. Similarly, central locking, adjustable, energy-absorbing steering, as well as ABS and EBD braking systems come standard.
